Microtiles.

Micro. is a trademark of Domus.it srl, which designs and manufactures surfaces for architecture, working in the field of ceramics for interior and exterior coatings. It is an open project aimed at researching and developing quality micromosaics. The small tiles have the ability to draw, with textures and colors, infinite combinations for walls and floors. With simple and high shapes the surfaces are enriched, amplifying the suggestions.

The company located in Fiorano Modenese is a project in continuous development, in step with the times. The products are designed and manufactured with the typical Italian know-how and skill. In addition to being a company that focuses on the quality of the product, it aims and contributes to affirming the Made in Italy in the world.

To carry on the project, Micro. always makes use of the collaboration of the best designers who contribute to bringing new solutions in the “very small” world. Some of the latest achievements: Claudio Silvestrin with “Frammenti”, proposed the smallest mosaic in the world, thus making the ceramic similar to a fabric, and therefore making it possible to cover any type of surface; Jean Marie Massaud with “Alea”, his project of a system of mosaics organized on the three different forms: pen, picture and round; and Nendo with “Brick” who opted for the scale reduction of the classic brick used in construction.

The new 2018 collection, Microtiles, has the signature of Roberto Cicchinè.

The strength of this product is the extreme freedom offered to designers to be able to customize surfaces making them different and unique. The project is based on the combination of types of plugs with dimensions 2.5×2.5 cm dot, 5×5 cm square and 5×10 cm rectangular in thirteen different colors easily composable thanks to the delicate shades. They can be chosen among the proposed combinations and thus have a format on a directly posable network or choose to play with the imagination, out of the proposed schemes posing piece by piece like a mosaic. The variation of the orientation and distance between the individual tiles creates motifs that refer, in miniature, to the idea of a brick wall or to the more articulated concept of paved floor. The choice and the size of the fillers, in combination or in contrast, is also varied.

Really an interesting alternative, for small and large surfaces of walls and floors, and perfect for the needs of designers to leave their mark!
