Cristina Celestino“In the natural order of things the interior is primarily an intimate, personal space, while external zones are for socializing and sharing. But what happens when this situation is reversed? (...) Welcome to a place where what appears is something other than itself.”
On Tuesday 13 June we reopened the doors of “Una stanza tutta per sé” (A Room of One’s Own), the cultural project by Domitilla Dardi for Cantiere Galli Design, revealing the new installation by Cristina Celestino entitled “Proiezioni” (Projections). This is a site-specific work that interprets the theme of “Personal/Shared” that is the fil rouge of the first edition of this initiative.
The reflecting surfaces on the walls cancel their material nature in infinite reflected horizons of thought; the walls themselves become big windows, framed by sumptuous drapes. The floor dons a soft material without edges, carpeting in pastel tones that also covers the ceiling, simulating earth and sky, but with the material values of a historic estate.
